PPC Advertising – Yahoo’s Overture Sees Profits up 33%

In 2003 Overture Services Inc started it’s search services in Dublin’s East Point Business Park in 2003 & they were then bought out by Yahoo that same year.

In 2005 Yahoo established it’s European HQ in Dublin (probably to be near their good friends at Google…)

Basically Overture is the Pay Per Click company that handles Yahoo’s Search advertising.
Their recently-filed Irish accounts show that their pre-tax profits rose 33% from €57M to €76M in 2007 with turnover dropping 12% from €911M to €810M.

However their operating profits dropped 23% from €86M to €66M.

More than 50% of Overture’s business is done in Asia-Pacific where sales totalling €409m were recorded.
Overture’s European sales were €391.

The company has 294 staff with 150 in editorial & customer service with another 144 in admin & finance.
